Joe Sumner Lists California Craftsman Home for $3 Million

A house in Venice, California, belonging to musician Joe Sumner, the son of chart-topping singer Sting, hit the market last week for $2.99 million.

From the street, the only sign of the property is a white door in a high hedge, but behind that lies the California craftsman-style home.

Spread over a single-story, the almost 1,900-square-foot house has three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms, vaulted ceilings, and an open floor plan, according to the listing with Jacqueline Cahen of Compass.

The property also has white oak European hardwood floors, multiple skylights, a two-car garage, landscaped gardens, a deck, and a separate studio space that could be used as an office or creative work space, according to the listing. The house is less than a 10- minute walk from the famed Venice Beach.

Ms. Cahen was not immediately available to comment on the property.

Mr. Sumner, 42—who could not immediately be reached for comment—purchased the home in 2013 for $1.9 million, records with PropertyShark show. He is the frontman for the band Fiction Plane, and the eldest son of the musician Sting.

Sting made his own real estate moves earlier this year when he sold his sprawling Manhattan penthouse on Central Park West for $50 million.

He purchased the duplex for $26.9 million in 2008 under his real name, Gordon Sumner, and listed it in May 2017 with a $56 million price tag.
